The precious metal calculator is for estimating smaller amounts of scrap only. We tend to assay most precious metal customer jobs and pay at a higher rate with the melt assay payment method. The above rates are for customers in the trade.
We do not list a dental estimating factor as there is no standard gold percentage for dental solids. For example in 1987, the best selling yellow gold crown alloy for a dental manufacturer I was working at for the time was 27% gold. In 1987, the University of Minnesota dental school was using a 59% yellow gold content alloy (about 14k). To be safe, I suggest buying yellow gold over the counter based at about 10 karat scrap.
Please call for scrap prices.
